Self portrait.
Find everything of yourself on the web.
I chose to do this through images.
I found some pictures that I uploaded on Facebook and I found a lot of work I made from Behance.

You vs the world.

I haven't seen much of the world, and no place really matters to me. The only place that matters to me most right now, is America. My family lives there, but I have never seen them. This autumn I was going to visit them, but it got cancelled.
So I made this portrait about them. The red paint on the background is the plain route from Amsterdam to Portland Oregon. It's red because I'm afraid of flying and also afraid that when I meet them, it won't be what I expect. The white lines represent the fact that the trip got cancelled, and that I can't get to them. The letters form the words: I can't reach you.

You being visible in Rotterdam.

I haven't been in Rotterdam a lot, so I don't know
a lot of places or what it's really like. So I pictured how I'm visible in Rotterdam. I thought of people seeing me, and what they might think of me.
For instance, a while ago I was collecting trash. What on earth would someone think when they see a person gathering random garbage. So I sketched myself in places I've been, and added the possible thoughts of people who could've or have seen me.

Group portrait.

Make a group portrait of our class.
I desided to make the picture on the bridge behind our school, because I think that makes it different from other group portraits. The colour is the colour of Rotterdam, so that shows that we are students there.

Beneath this post you can see the composition I roughly had in mind. I think it worked out pretty well.

Portrait of Europe.

How do I see Europe?
I see it in danger from all the threats from ISIS.
I'm afraid bad things will happen very close to home.

I based this portrait on a text I found on the internet. It said:

They have infiltrated us with those who pretend to be us, and we have penetrated them with those who look like them.

They have people of their own among us, and we can't see them. That's why I painted a crowded place and everyone looks the same or at least not like a potential terrorist. I chose these two colors to show that even though we might not see the difference right now, we do feel it. The pink color makes me feel very nervous, and the black color stands for fear.
The text I printed on a transparant sticker sheet, to make it fit in the concept.
